History: It is known that the Christian armies conquered Hond\u00f3n from the Moors in 1246. Until 1839 it was part of the jurisdiction of Aspe and in that year it became an independent municipality together with Hond\u00f3n de los Frailes. In 1926 Hond\u00f3n de las Nieves and Hond\u00f3n de los Frailes were separated. In 1900 the municipality had 3,690 inhabitants, but still together with Hond\u00f3n de los Frailes.<\/p>\n
